The Christmas Card Project in Aid of Peter McVerry Trust

The Christmas Card Project is a collaborative project undertaken to raise vital funds for the Peter McVerry Trust. You might remember 2 years ago myself and a few designer pals ran the project for Childline.

This years collaboration has taken place with 3 designers who are all part of the design collective. Each designer chose their favourite memory of Christmas and designed a card based on that.

My memories from when I was younger were dressing up for the school play/nativity and finding tea-towels around my head and the heads of all my fiends!  I illustrated the back of the shepherds heads with with tea-towels from all the major shops around town.

My second memory was and still is,  walking around Henry Street and Moore Street and hearing the traders screaming 'Wrapping Paper Five for Fifty'. I chose to hand draw type for the Wrapping Paper card and embellish it in ornamental line to reference the truly 'Irish' nature of this statement. One which every Dub knows!!!

The resulting cards are A6 in size, printed on Munken Pure using 2 colour risograph by the amazing guys at Or Studio.  Because of this technique no two cards are the same and this year we went for flouro pink and navy to stand out from the usual seasonal colours.

We were hoping to raise as much money as possible and 100% of the money goes directly to the Trust (we covered all costs) and we are very close to selling the lot and raising a whopping €1000!

I'd like to thank everyone who bought the cards !!!!
