Traders Look Book

The Brief:

Traders is a feature film, written and directed by Rachel Moriarty and Peter Murphy, and set around Dublin's ghost estates. The brief was to create a Look Book to assist with funding for the project.

The Solution:

The purpose of the look book was to visually communicate the mood and tone of the film (prior to filming). Central to conveying this tone was to capture the murky world that this story unfolds in.

The chosen palette is sombre and the type is kept to a minimum, at times appearing difficult to comprehend, to further create anxiety and tension. This is echoed in the images shot for this piece, which have the letters spelling out T-r-a-d-e-r-s overlaid in an unassuming way. 

Filming began in Feb 2014. After filming a second look book was created with stills from the shoot and the website that is featured throughout the film was also created. 

This was such a great project to work on!

This project has also been accepted into the 100 Archive - a permanent collection for design.
